The Makerspace is a student-run electronics lab, located at 18 AB 04 (fourth floor of AB building, just inside the EE undergraduate labs near the AA/AB Stairwell). It is open to all EARS members on completion of health and safety training.
As a modern electronics lab, the Makerspace contains all the equipment you might need for your projects. This includes four fully equipped work benches with: 4-channel digital oscilloscopes, digital function generators, programmable power supplies, microcontroller programmers and soldering/hot-air stations.
We also keep a stock of common components (resistors, capacitors, transistors etc.) which are available for use by members. All equipment is covered by the membership fee.

In addition, we also have powerful dedicated PCs for CAD, with all industry-leading software available, such as Autodesk Fusion, Solidworks, SketchUp and more upon request. The printers are a key part of many society and personal projects, available for members upon completion of 3D printer training.
An area of the Makerspace is setup for fabrication, as many projects have a mechanical aspect to them. We have a range of hand and machine tools available, including saws, drills, files and screwdrivers.
